How does it detect open and close?
The sensor comes in two pieces — a main unit and a magnet. Mount one on the door or window and the other on the frame. When they separate, the sensor instantly registers "open"; when they meet again, "closed."
Do I need a hub?
No separate arre hub is needed, but Matter over Thread requires a Thread border router on your network — many devices already include one, like an Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini, or certain Google Nest and Amazon Echo devices.
How long does the battery last?
The included CR2032 battery lasts approximately 2 years under normal use. Replacing it takes seconds.
Where can I use it?
Anywhere two surfaces meet — entry doors, windows, cabinets, drawers, gates, and more. The slim profile fits most frames.
Does it work with Apple Home, Google, and Alexa?
